The Top 5

Father Christmas

in Kent

Every year, most of us have that same old debate with ourselves and our mummy friends of where to take the kiddies to see Father Christmas! We have the added pressure of those attractions that are in high demand and require early booking, and if any of you are like me, I am far from thinking of Christmas for my own monkeys at the beginning of November!!

I thought I would help you with a summary of my Top 5 recommended places to see Father Christmas, in hope to help those still looking decide for this year, or to give you some new ideas for next year!

Marsh Farm, Essex

One I must visit and recommended by several of my clients!

The website shares how your children will be taken on a journey from start to finish; through Elf Academy, decorating gingerbread and entering the Snow Show.  The most important part is knowing who’s naughty or nice before meeting Father Christmas! Each child can then make a furry friend before visiting Elf-ville for more surprises!

Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway

My sister took my children on this before it changed over to their new Santa Specials and recommends anyone to take their child on a steam train!

Previously Santa would board the train for the ride from New Romney to Dungeness, but the new offerings show a more traditional approach with Santa having his own Grotto.

RHDR now offer 4 different Santa Specials; Rudolph’s Romney Return, Breakfast with Santa, Lunch with Santa and Afternoon Tea with Santa.

Santa Specials include Santa grotto visit, present, refreshments and snow machine.

The Reindeer Centre, Ashford

One of my favourite places and visited many times with friends!

The unique thing about The Reindeer Centre is they are setup in this manner all year round, not just for Christmas, and often get mistaken for being open all year because of their much loved Reindeer! They have seven animated scenes in their 150ft grotto, with children receiving a gift, and option to purchase souvenir photos. Children can also burn some energy off in their straw bale ball pit and artificial snow play area!

Prices vary, no booking needed except Christmas Eve

Another one recommended and needing to visit, a great garden centre all year round!

Upon check in the Elves will greet you, within group’s of up to 15 into Santa’s Grotto for a story. Each child or group of siblings will meet Santa and have the opportunity to have photos taken. Each child receives an aged appropriate gift. Despite there not being much information of “fancy” website for this grotto, I have been led to believe this experience is one worth a visit!
