We have gathered together some of the best country parks for you to enjoy. Which ones will you visit first?

Haysden Country Park

Located on the outskirts of Tonbridge, Haysden Country Park is a wonderful choice of park to visit. At a large sixty-four acres, there is plenty for you to explore with your family, and it is also a nature reserve. It’s perfect for going on nature walks, teaching your kids about animals, plants and trees, and giving them plenty to do as well as simply running around the beautiful landscape.

Trosley Country Park

Based in Trottiscliffe, near Vigo, this sprawling country park was once known as part of the Trosley Towers Estate. Now it is open for the public to visit and provides an enchanting day out for anyone.

Found on the sloping North Downs, it is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is exceptionally beautiful. There are marked trails that you can take to get the most out of your visit, such as the 1.5-mile yellow route which is ideal for families who don’t want to stray too far afield and the 2.5-mile red route which offers a flat walk for those with pushchairs. The 8.5-mile Adventurous Pub Route is great for those who really want to stretch their legs!

If you want to stick a little closer to where you parked your car, you can pick up a snack to eat from the cafe, and simply soak in the stunning natural atmosphere.

Shorne Woods Country Park

Are you looking for a full day out that is fun for all the family? Shorne Woods Country Park near Gravesend has something for everyone. With nearly three hundred impressive acres of land, there is a variety of landscapes, plenty of nature, and even a visitor centre so you can learn more about the park itself and the animals and plant life within it.

Not only that, but if you have forgotten to pack a picnic, the handy cafe is available for a light bite or a drink with takeout service.

This is definitely one of the most diverse parks in Kent, where you can see wetlands, grasslands, meadows, lakes and woodlands all in one day, depending on how far you want to walk!
